On February 22, Beijing time, the two-day 2025 National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix (4th leg) and the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25 Test Event kicked off in Nanjing. In the highly-anticipated men's 60-meter final, top sprinters gathered for an intense competition. Lu Weiyi from the Jiangsu team won the championship in 6.64 seconds. Chen Guanfeng from Guangdong (6.65 seconds) and Shi Yuhao from Jiangsu (6.66 seconds) demonstrated strong performances in the fierce competition, securing second and third place, respectively.
On the day of the event, the atmosphere was tense and passionate. Lu Weiyi crossed the finish line first with an outstanding performance. As the men's 60-meter champion, Lu Weiyi saidin a post-race interview that this result reflected his training level. He pledged to maintain high-intensity training and actively prepare for upcoming competitions, striving for even better results.
Chen Guanfeng, born in the 2000s, a rising star and a junior teammate of Su Bingtian, also delivered a commendable performance. Although he fell short of expectations in the previous race, he adjusted his condition and gave his all this time to achieve an impressive result of 6.65 seconds. "I am satisfied with today's performance and the overall condition was good," Chen Guanfeng said. He expressed gratitude for the comprehensive logistical support provided by the event organizers, which made him feel well taken care of.
It is reported that from March 21 to 23, the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25 will take place at the newly inaugurated "Nanjing's Cube". As a world-class indoor athletics event with global influence, it will attract 600 top athletes from approximately 150 countries and regions worldwide. They will gather in Nanjing to compete fiercely for championship titles across various events at the "Nanjing's Cube".
