On February 23, in the men's 60m hurdles final of the 2025 National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix (4th leg) and the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25 Test Event, Jiangsu athlete Liu Junxi broke his personal best with a time of 7.47 seconds to secure a commanding victory. Hubei's Zhu Shenglong finished second with a time of 7.56 seconds, also setting a new personal best and successfully qualifying for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25.
At the previous 2025 National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix in Xi'an, Liu Junxi became the first men's 60m hurdler to qualify for the World Athletics Indoor Championships with a time of 7.53 seconds. Following this event, Liu Junxi and Zhu Shenglong will challenge the world's top athletes in March this year.
In March last year, at the 2024 National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix in Nanjing, Zhu Shenglong won the men's 60m hurdles with a personal best of 7.63 seconds. This year, he once again set a new personal best in Nanjing. Looking ahead to the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25, which will be held at the same venue, Zhu Shenglong is full of confidence, "I hope to make it to the finals and compete against the world's top athletes."
