As the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25 approaches, Chinese sprinting star LIANG Xiaojing is gearing up for the competition. This Chinese sprint superstar will team up with young sprinter CHEN Yujie to showcase China’s speed at this world-class indoor athletics event, held on home soil for the first time.

For LIANG, Nanjing is more than just another competition venue. It’s a place of career-defining victories. Back in 2014, at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, she became the first Chinese sprinter to win gold in the women’s 100m, clocking 11.65 seconds. In 2016, she took the women’s 60m title at China’s National Indoor Championships (Nanjing) with a time of 7.23 seconds. Most recently, in February 2025, she continued her winning streak at the 2025 National Indoor Athletics Grand Prix (Leg 4) and a test event for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25, securing victory in the women’s 60m with 7.19 seconds, the fastest time in Asia this season. After the race, she called Nanjing her “lucky ground”, saying, “I’ll keep pushing myself to improve with every race!”
On March 22, LIANG Xiaojing will go head-to-head with some of the world’s top sprinters on the center track of the “Nanjing’s Cube”. Will this “lucky ground” witness another breakthrough in China’s women’s 60m sprint?
