Leyanis Pérez Hernández Wins Women’s Triple Jump Gold with 14.93m!

On the evening of March 22 (Beijing time), the women’s triple jump final at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 25 took place at the “Nanjing’s Cube”. Cuban rising star Leyanis Pérez Hernández delivered an outstanding performance, jumping 14.93m to secure the gold medal. Her compatriot Liadagmis Povea took silver with 14.57m, while Spain’s Ana Peleteiro-Compaoré claimed bronze with 14.29m. China’s LI Yi finished seventh with a 13.84m jump.

From her very first attempt, Pérez Hernández leaped 14.93m, setting a new world-leading mark for the season and securing her victory early. Competing against a field filled with top-ranked athletes, she held her composure under pressure and dominated the event. Her stellar performance added excitement to the competition and ignited the enthusiasm of the spectators.

Cuban silver medalist Liadagmis Povea, who also set a personal season-best with 14.57m, expressed her satisfaction after the competition: “I’m happy with my result because I’ve been training hard with my coach.”

Spanish star Ana Peleteiro-Compaoré clinched third place with 14.29m, while 2024 Olympic triple jump champion Thea Lafond from Dominica narrowly missed the podium. However, her 14.18m jump was still a season-best performance.
